About

Built for the people who build culture.

Founding Creatives is an independent publication about the artists, designers, entrepreneurs and innovators whose work shapes what comes next.

Why this matters

Every great movement starts with someone who decided to make something before anyone asked them to. A designer sewing in a spare room. A founder writing code at night after a full day of work. A painter renting a studio they can barely afford. These are the people who quietly move culture forward — and too often, their stories are told only after they've "made it," if they're told at all.

We believe the beginning is the most important part of the story. The doubt, the risk, the first customer, the first gallery wall, the first "no." That's where the real lessons live, and that's where we want to be.

Founding Creatives exists to document creative ambition while it's happening — honestly, beautifully and without hype. We publish independent journalism, long-form interviews and essays that treat creative work with the seriousness it deserves.

"The future belongs to the creative. I wanted to build a home for the people who are already building it."

Bryce Larkk, Founder

What it means to our founder

For Bryce Larkk, Founding Creatives is personal. It grew out of years spent around makers, founders and artists whose talent was obvious but whose names were unknown. He watched brilliant people give up — not because their work wasn't good enough, but because no one was paying attention and no one was telling them their path was worth walking.

Bryce started Founding Creatives to change that. To him, it's more than a magazine: it's a record that says you were here, you built something, and it mattered. Every interview is a chance to give someone the recognition he wishes more creatives received early on — and to show the next generation that a creative life is a real, serious, achievable life.

It's also a promise of standards. Bryce believes creatives deserve journalism as thoughtful as their work. That's why every story is reviewed by our editors before it goes live, why we choose depth over clicks, and why our design stays simple: black, white, and the work itself.

Above all, Founding Creatives is Bryce's way of building a community — readers who are inspired, journalists who are supported, and creatives who finally feel seen.
